Two persons are feared dead after unknown gunmen shot at an Army Checkpoint at Obeagu-Amodu road in Enugu South local government area of Enugu State on Tuesday, September 27.
Eyewitness reports say the hoodlums arrived in the area in two Lexus SUVs and a Toyota Sienna bus around 7:25 am after which they allegedly opened fire at the combined might of the police and military.
Daniel Ndukwe, the command’s spokesperson, had told newsmen that the policemen were attacked while conducting a “stop and search duty”.
He then went on to add that the police were currently on the trail of the gunmen but that details of the incident were still yet murky at the time of this report.
