The issue of capital punishment is something that many countries have abolished from their judicial system, and for countries that still haven’t abolished such, they are only to use it when the crime committed deserves death. The presiding judge, Justice Usman Naabba, of Kano state High court, has sentenced Abdulmalik Muhammad Taiwo the founder of Noble kids College, and two others to death by hanging for abducting and murdering Hanifa Abubakar a pupil of Noble kids College.
If we can recall, the internet buzzed last year, as little Hanifa was abducted on the 4th of December 2021, on her way back from her Islamic lessons, and was killed by the proprietor of the school she attends after contacting the family to demand 6million naira as a ransom for her freedom at Datata Nassarawa L.G A of Kano state.
The state attorney General, Musa Abdullahi, who led the prosecution team submitted 14 exhibits and brought out 8 witnesses to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. The case has been in court for over a year now, until today when the final verdict was passed. Justice has finally been served for Hanifa.
