Fans all over the world have received the news of star actor Wentworth Miller’s revelation of being autistic with great shock.
The now openly gay actor who came into prominence when playing the lead role in the then popular series “Prison Break” wrote on his Instagram page of his diagnosis while also thanking all those who have shown him love since the news broke.
In his words, “This fall marks one year since I received my informal autism diagnosis. Preceded by a self diagnosis. Followed by a formal diagnosis. It was a long, flawed process in need of updating IMO. I am a middle aged man not a 5 year old.”
Wentworth first sent shock waves earlier when he openly admitted to being gay. This also led to him opting out of the revival of the famous Fox Series Prison Break franchise that shot him into limelight; he said he couldn’t continue because he was playing the role of a straight guy which he isn’t, he apologized to the fans for falling in love with his character which he described as being “fake”.
He also thanked the autism community for showing him so much warmth and love ever since the news became public. He wrote, “I also want to say to the many people who consciously or unconsciously gave me that extra bit of grace and space over the years, allowed me to move thru the world in a way that made sense to me whether or not it made sense to them, I just want to say thank you,”
Wether this will reduce his acting even further is still unclear but one thing is for sure; he will forever remain one of the most entertaining individuals to ever grace our screens.
