Not less than 2000 households have been displaced and rendered homeless by flooding in several communities of Talata Mafafa local government area of Zamfara State.
From the reports gathered, many properties, including livestock worth millions of Naira were also destroyed.
The affected communities included Ruwan Gora, Morai, Makera, Talata Mafara town etc.
Meanwhile, the officials of the Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency, (ZEMA) had confirmed the incident, pointing out that they had visited the affected communities to assess the damage.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Ahmed Bala Gusau, had meanwhile said that the incident was very unfortunate.
The ZEMA, boss had spoken through the Director for Disaster Management and Control of the Board, Hassan Usman Dauran, who assured the victims of the state government’s commitment to do the needful.
The entourage comprised of the Sole Administrator, Talata Mafara local government, Usman Jafar, who sympathized with the affected victims and urged them not to obstruct waterways.
