Popular content creator Habeeb ‘Peller’ Hamzat has revealed that filmmaker Funke Akindele supported him following his arrest in December 2025.
The TikToker was taken into custody after a controversial live-streamed stunt in which he deliberately crashed his car. The Lagos State Police described the act as “extremely dangerous,” warning that it posed a serious risk to both Peller and the public. The case was subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, after which he was released.

In a now-viral video from the premiere of the movie Love Notes, Peller was seen warmly greeting Akindele, exchanging pleasantries with the renowned filmmaker.
Expressing his gratitude, Peller said Akindele played a crucial role during his legal troubles.
“She helped me, she was the one who helped when I was in prison. She was the one who helped my life,” he stated.
Peller has become one of Nigeria’s most prominent TikTok influencers, amassing over 14 million followers. However, his online activities have often sparked controversy, with critics describing some of his behavior as “loud and uneducated.”
