Nigerian skit maker and social commentator Kevin Blak has revealed that he declined an alleged offer to participate in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

The comedian, famed for his political satire and mimicry, made the disclosure in a video shared on his Instagram page, where he read out a direct message he claimed to have received, inviting him to use his platform to promote the President.

Born Kevin Chinedu Arua and popularly known as Governor Amuneke, the content creator, who boasts over 450,000 followers on Instagram, said he was surprised by the approach, given the nature of his work.

“You see the kind of videos that I post, and you have the mind to come and tell me to join the campaign for Tinubu. I would read some of the messages, and it is quite disturbing for me,” he said.

Reading from the alleged message, Blak added, “I have been watching your content. Please sir, you are not impressing me. You are only using your content to fight my leader, President Tinubu. I just want to let you know that President Tinubu is bigger than mere comedy sessions.”

Reacting, the skit maker stressed that his creative work is not designed to promote any political party or individual but to advocate for accountability and good governance.

“My content is bigger than Tinubu. It is bigger than Nigeria. It is for the entire Africa — for a better Africa. Politically, for us to know what we are supposed to do. That’s what gave birth to the kind of content I do,” he explained.

Blak further noted that his role as a social commentator goes beyond election seasons and partisan politics.

“Even after Tinubu, we would still be here to address things. Even if things get better, you would still see me address the loopholes. So, it is beyond you. It is beyond the APC,” he added.

The skit maker’s comments have since sparked conversations online about the role of creatives in political discourse and civic engagement.
