Reality TV personality Neo Akpofure has refuted a rape allegation circulating on social media, as his legal team issued a stern warning of legal action unless the claim is withdrawn.

The accusation surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), where a user identified as @notralia alleged that the former Big Brother Naija housemate sexually assaulted her during their days as students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL).

Following the widespread attention the post attracted, Neo responded through his lawyers, E.L. Akpofure, SAN & Co., who released a formal demand letter strongly rejecting the claim.

In the letter, the legal team described the allegation as “false and defamatory,” stating that it has caused their client “serious reputational and emotional damage,” while portraying him as “a criminal and a sexual offender.”

They demanded the immediate removal of the post, a public apology and retraction, as well as a written assurance that no further defamatory statements would be made against Neo.

The lawyers also issued a 48-hour ultimatum for compliance, warning that failure to meet the demands would lead to immediate legal proceedings.

As of the time of filing this report, the accuser had yet to issue any public response.

The allegation emerged amid heightened online discussions on sexual assault, coming shortly after a TikTok user, Mirabel, accused an unidentified man of raping her in her apartment.
