Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly accused his father of long-term neglect, financial exploitation, and betrayal, opening up about the strained relationship during a recent Instagram Live session.
The Zazoo Zeh hitmaker alleged that his father failed to support his upbringing, claiming he neither received a formal education nor learned a trade under his care. According to Portable, he was sent away from Abuja and had to independently learn tailoring after relocating to Lagos.
He expressed anger that his father, whom he said was largely absent during his most difficult periods — including encounters with law enforcement — is now deeply involved in his life for what he believes are selfish reasons.

“Even my dad is only concerned with getting money from me. There is no time I would be in the police station that you will ever come to my aid as your son,” Portable said.
The singer further accused his father of meddling in his personal affairs, stealing his belongings and collecting money from the mothers of his children without his consent.
“But you can collect the phone numbers of your son’s baby mamas and collect money from them. You will be sniffing around my family… When you are not with me, my life goes on,” he added.
Portable also claimed his father defrauded him while handling a building project, alleging inflated prices for construction materials and deliberate mismanagement of funds. He strongly rejected the idea that his father could ever inherit his possessions.
“You did not take care of me. You did not send me to school… You can never inherit me. I will not allow you to do to me what they did to Mohbad,” the singer stated, accusing his father of attempting to take ownership of his cars, clothes and other properties.
Recounting past grievances, Portable alleged that his father showed indifference after his mother’s death and repeatedly cheated him during purchases for his house project.
“When I wanted to build a house, I told him to handle it… A block of N300,000, he will call it N900,000,” he said, insisting that his life and success were achieved without parental support.
The emotional outburst has since sparked widespread reactions online, with fans and observers divided over the deeply personal allegations.
