Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, has clearly stated that the Sweden national team player, Alexander Isak, still has a place in his plans, however, he also admitted that the striker is likely to be left out of the Premier League opener against Aston Villa at St James’ Park next weekend.
Isak, who has made it known that he wants to leave and did not come for the pre-season, has been working out separately.
Howe has issued a warning that the Sweden international will have to “earn the right” if he wants to be accepted back by the team. Liverpool, after seeing their £110 million (\$147.8 million) offer being turned down in the summer, are said to be ready to come up with a better offer as long as Newcastle is willing to enter the bargaining.
Howe, after Newcastle and Espanyol played a 2–2 draw, still wanted Isak to come back, but he doesn’t expect any changes to take place before the first game of the season. “We want the player to be with us—let me say that very clearly,” he said.
“But the fact is that, at this point in time, we cannot have him with the group.”Howe assured that Isak is not injured, but at the same time, he seemed to speak of issues in the team while replying. “From our point of view, it would be great to have him here, just that the situation has to be such that it would be possible, ” he went on.
