The celebrated vocalist, Tiwa Savage, has recalled how her revealing outfits used to get her banned from performing at concerts when she would return to Nigeria from the UK.

She revealed that some of her previous music videos were rejected from television because they were deemed offensive.

She revealed this in a recent interview with BET

What they’re saying

She made some shocking statement in the interview, saying;

“When I go to an event, I will be told that my outfit was too revealing and I couldn’t perform.”

“This was a cultural issue. Even some of my earlier music videos were not shown on television because they were deemed inappropriate and i wasn’t even wearing a bikini”

“Despite the setbacks, I remained stubborn. My outfits were becoming increasingly exposing, It was simply getting worse and they were attacking me online.”.

“It was funny because the females were secretly falling in love with me and my style. They couldn’t refute it.
My fanbase was growing, so they had to schedule me for shows and play my music because there was a demand for it.”
