Mauricio Pochettino, the ex-manager of french giants, Paris saint Germain disclosed in an interview that his failure to win the UEFA champions league made the club sack him. According to him, the major concern of the club is to win the Champions League and no matter the achievements, failure to win the champions league is regarded as a total failure. Other relevant competitions are of no importance to PSG.

“Everything [at PSG] is focused on the Champions League,” Pochettino told Argentine outlet Infobae, “and sometimes that can be a little distracting.”

“Those demands seem to only exist in the build-up to European games, and other competitions are taken for granted due to PSG’s superiority.

Mauricio Pochettino

Robert Mauricio Pochettino is a professional football manager, and an ex-Argentinian player, who after retiring from football decided to kick start his managerial career. He was recently the manager of PSG where he won Ligue 1 and Copa de France.
