Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has hailed MI Abaga as a key figure in his music journey, crediting him for teaching him the art of rap and helping shape his career.
In a recent interview with Isbaeu on Curiosity Made Me Ask, shared on X Monday, Ice Prince reflected on his rap skills, attributing his confidence and lyrical prowess to the mentorship he received from MI.
Describing MI as a “big brother” and mentor, Ice Prince acknowledged the knowledge and discipline MI instilled in him, ensuring that he could never deliver “wack” verses.
“I can rap on any beat, with anybody, any rapper and I will stand out. I’m not going to have a wack verse on a song.
“I’m not saying other rappers cannot rap or do their thing but it can’t be said that I’m wack. I was brought up by the best, shout out to MI Abaga.
“I rapped with MI for years. That’s my big brother, he taught me how to do this and he taught me well.”
Ice Prince gained immense popularity in 2011 with his breakout hit Oleku from his debut album and has continued to enjoy success in the industry with hit singles and collaborations with top artists.
