Nigerian music producer ID Cabasa recently revealed that rapper Olamide has a vast collection of unreleased songs stored on his system, exceeding 100 tracks.
In an interview shared on X this Monday, Cabasa talked about how many artists with strong work ethics, like Olamide, keep numerous unreleased songs.
He said, “Bring many songs wey no make am out wey dey on top my system… Even my own no plenty reach Olamide own,” explaining that Olamide’s unreleased music is far more than his own.
He also pointed out that aside from solo songs, there are multiple collaborations involving producers like Young Jonn and Pheelz that haven’t been released yet.
Cabasa emphasized the discipline that keeps these artists consistently recording, regardless of whether they immediately share new music with the public.
Cabasa said, “It’s just that discipline that we’ve given ourselves — whether we are releasing songs or not, we just show up. We just want to release stuff down.”
He encouraged new artists to develop this habit of steady creation rather than waiting for the perfect timing.
According to him, producing a solid album today may require recording as many as 50 songs while trying out different ideas.
This insight sheds light on the behind-the-scenes dedication fueling Nigeria’s music industry and highlights the strong work ethic that has helped Olamide remain influential over the years.
