Nigeria’s electoral umpire will be resuming the suspended collation of results for Abia State by 4 pm today, Wednesday, March 22.
The head of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Rebecca Jim, confirmed this news update.
According to her, both the presiding officer and state administrative secretary invited to the INEC headquarters in Abuja, following the controversy from the Obingwa results, would be on their way to Abia, to round up the collation process.
Recall that on Monday, March 20, INEC suspended further collation of governorship election results in certain parts of Abia and Enugu states after the INEC office in Obingwa Local Government Area had been ambushed by political thugs on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
