Amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, President Isaac Herzog of Israel has issued a determined declaration that Hamas leader Yehya al-Sinwar must be captured, regardless of whether he is alive or dead.
Herzog emphasized, “Everything hinges on Yehya Sinwar. He’s the mastermind behind the October massacre.” The President views al-Sinwar as pivotal to the Gaza war and essential for securing the release of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip.
“In the end, we have no alternative,” Herzog asserted in Jerusalem on Tuesday. “We must persist in our efforts and reach al-Sinwar—alive or dead—to facilitate the return of our hostages.”
Attributing the conflict’s origins to the Hamas leader, Herzog accused al-Sinwar of seeking to escalate regional tensions, undermine Ramadan, sabotage coexistence within Israel and beyond, and sow discord worldwide.
According to Herzog, the resolution of the conflict hinges on the capture of Hamas leader Yehya al-Sinwar.
This raises the question: Will the war between Israel and Palestine persist until al-Sinwar is apprehended?
