Popular Nigerian automobile dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, widely known as IVD, has been discharged and acquitted of all allegations linking him to the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.

The ruling was delivered on Monday, December 15, 2025, bringing an end to a protracted legal dispute that lasted several years following accusations from Bimbo’s family, who had alleged that he was responsible for her death.

The development was made public by IVD’s partner and self-acclaimed relationship therapist, Blessing CEO, who shared the update via her Instagram page. While celebrating the court decision, she also used the opportunity to advise her followers on the importance of leaving unhealthy relationships.

IVD Cleared in Wife’s Death—But Mystery Surrounding Fire Persists

“Discharge and acquitted 15th December 2025. It ended in praise.
4 years of tears and false narratives.
Nigeria justice system still works.
I’m proud of my country. IVD. You can now have your life back. Congratulations.

If marriage or relationship no Dey work please run ooooooo, run oooooo, don’t wait for anybody to pass. Run,” she wrote.

Bimbo Ogbonna passed away in October 2022 after sustaining severe injuries from a fire incident at the couple’s Lagos home, an incident that was widely linked to allegations of domestic violence.

In March 2023, the Lagos State Government arraigned IVD on charges of involuntary manslaughter, although he was granted bail shortly after. He was later taken back into custody on August 1, 2025, by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions while en route to Qatar ahead of his planned wedding to Blessing CEO.

The court’s decision now clears IVD of all charges connected to the case, officially closing one of the most closely followed domestic violence trials in recent years.
