The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reported that over 1.1 million candidates have registered for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, made this declaration yesterday while overseeing the registration process that was taking place in a few computer-based test centers (CBT) in Abuja.
Oloyede stopped by the CBT centers in the following locations: Total Child International School, Dutse; JAMB Abuja zone office; Life Camp; Global Distance Learning Institute; and Sascon International College, Abuja.
Additionally, he stated that the Board would not extend the registration deadline for candidates, and he warned CBT centers against extorting candidates. The sale of the 2023 UTME began on Saturday, January 14, 2023, and is scheduled to end on February 14, 2023.
He urged candidates to report instances of extortion and promised a reward if they did so. He said there was a code for candidates to use in notifying the board of any instances of extortion.
