Former England captain John Terry has blasted the composition of Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad. He feels that there are only enough quality players to really win the tournament.

England’s 26-man squad has now come together in the United States to compete in the World Cup. Saka, Rice, Eze and Madueke have been in camp following time off after the Champions League final.

Terry thinks Tuchel has made huge blunders by leaving players out of the squad who should be involved, and told Sports Uncensored: “I just think you need to have your best players there. There’s only 13, 14 or 15 players that can play if we’re going to win this World Cup.”

The ex-Chelsea defender blasted the decision to leave out Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Cole Palmer and insists they will be missed at the tournament due to their vast experience in tournaments.

The ex-captain also questioned dropping experienced players and opting for young faces like Nico O’Reilly and relying on them without experienced players around them.

Despite all his criticism of England’s squad selection, Terry admires Tuchel’s boldness, which he saw first hand when he was at Chelsea.

England have one last match before the competition starts against Costa Rica. England’s first match is against Croatia, and their Group L opponents also include Ghana and Panama.
