A passion for visual storytelling has continued to drive the success of Ogedengbe Tobi John, founder of Johnbrainy Media, a photography and videography brand based in Yaba, Lagos.

With over 13 years of experience in the industry, Tobi has built a reputation for delivering quality visual content, covering events, brand projects, and personal moments. His journey into the business, he said, was inspired by a deep love for filmmaking.

In an interview with our correspondent on Monday, he shared insights into his journey, challenges, and what keeps his business going in a highly competitive industry.

“It was born out of a passion for films,” he said, explaining how his interest in visual storytelling led him to establish Johnbrainy Media.

Operating from his office at 20 Oguntuga Street, Abule Ijesa, Yaba, Tobi has remained consistent in growing his brand despite increasing competition in the photography and videography space. According to him, one of the major challenges he faces is market saturation, as more creatives continue to enter the industry.

Rather than focusing solely on competition, he has built his brand around maintaining strong relationships with clients, which he believes sets him apart.

“Nothing extra, just customer relationship,” he said, emphasizing that trust and consistency are key to sustaining any business.

Over the years, Johnbrainy Media has handled a variety of projects, reflecting Tobi’s experience and adaptability in a constantly evolving creative industry. His ability to maintain relevance for over a decade highlights his commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction.

He also offered advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those looking to venture into creative businesses.

“Have a backup plan,” he advised, noting that the business environment can be unpredictable and requires careful planning.

Beyond his physical location, Tobi continues to expand his reach through digital platforms. His work can be found on Instagram (@johnbrainymedia), where he showcases his projects and engages with a wider audience.

Tobi’s journey reflects the importance of passion, consistency, and strong customer relationships in building a sustainable business. In an industry where competition is high, his story stands as an example of how dedication and experience can help a brand remain relevant over time.
