Kano Commissioner Loses Three Family Members in Fire Tragedy

Dr. Yusuf Kofar-Mata, Kano State Commissioner of Higher Education, lost three family members in a fire inferno.

According to reports, his daughter, Maimuna (Islam), his older sister, Hajiya Khadija, and his brother’s wife, Hajiya Juwairiyya, died in a fire that broke out at his home on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, officials of the Kano State Fire Service had yet to issue a formal statement regarding the incident. Sympathisers have continued to offer their sympathies to Commissioner Dr. Kofar-Mata

Dr. Kofar-Mata disclosed the sad tragedy on his verified Facebook page.

He wrote, “I lament the loss of my daughter Maimuna (Islam), my older sister Hajiya Khadija, and my brother’s wife, Juwairiyya.

“Their funeral prayers will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Kofar Mata quarters of Kano City.
