Kano State Government Continues With Demolition
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

The Kano State Government persisted with its demolition efforts, disregarding the intervention of the presidency. On Sunday, the government demolished shops located next to the Sani Abacha Stadium fence in Kofar Mata, GSS Kofar Nasarawa opposite IBB road, as well as buildings near GGSS Dukawuya in Goron Dutse.

According to an eyewitness, the operation took place in the early hours of the morning and was carried out by KNUPDA, following Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s directive.

It should be noted that the former governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, had previously informed President Bola Tinubu and the IGP about the ongoing demolitions during his address to State House Correspondents in Abuja on Friday.

The demolitions have led to the involvement of the Presidential candidate of NNPP, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who is also the leader of the party and a former governor of Kano State. Kwankwaso discussed the atrocities committed by Ganduje during his meeting with President Bola Tinubu. Additionally, last week, the state’s deputy governor, Comrade Aminu Gwarzo, declared that the demolition of illegal buildings at schools, prayer grounds, markets, and other locations would continue as an ongoing operation.
