At least three persons have died and several others, trapped under the wreckage after a building collapsed in the Kuntau area of Gwale Local Government of Kano State.
According to reports, two more people were rescued from the building.

At the time of filing this report, an earth-moving vehicle was spotted in the area as operations to rescue the trapped persons heightened but officials have yet to comment on the matter.
The head of search and rescue from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Abdulhadi Tukur, has revealed that they were able to rescue two people alive, and the rescue operation would continue until everyone has made it out.
Balarabe Nasidi, the ward head has said that the collapsed building, which reportedly belongs to a former local council chairman, was not properly erected.
