King Charles III is set to star in a new Amazon Prime documentary. Filming has already begun at Dumfries House in Scotland and the Prime documentary project is expected to showcase his environmental charity work in the UK and overseas, when released in late 2025 or early 2026.
This project marks a departure from the Royal Family’s traditional ties to British broadcasters like the BBC. The film, set for will showcase Charles’ decades-long climate advocacy and his call for global “harmony” with nature.
H3: Sussexes’ Netflix Deals Fuel Royal Streaming Competition
The Amazon collaboration intensifies the streaming rivalry within the Royal Family. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s $100M Netflix deal includes their 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan and Meghan’s upcoming lifestyle show “With Love, Meghan”, delayed by California wildfires. Both Sussexes also executive-produced Netflix’s Polo series, positioning them as competitors to Charles’ eco-focused Amazon project.
King Charles’ Climate Advocacy
As Prince of Wales, Charles spent 50 years championing environmental causes, culminating in his COP28 Dubai speech, where he warned that humanity’s “survivability will be imperilled” without urgent climate action.
His 2010 book Harmony—co-authored with Tony Juniper and Ian Skelly—argued for rebalancing humanity’s relationship with nature.
A Buckingham Palace source called the documentary a chance to “show, not tell” how Charles’ ideas can “transform the planet.”
Filming at Dumfries House
The documentary’s filming at Dumfries House highlights the estate’s role as Charles’ “living laboratory” for green initiatives. The 18th-century mansion, saved by Charles in 2007, now hosts eco-friendly farming, renewable energy trials, and youth STEM programs—key themes in the Amazon film.
Since becoming king, Charles has navigated strict royal protocols requiring political neutrality. However, he continues to push climate action discreetly, using platforms like COP28 and now Amazon to amplify his message without overt partisanship.
