The Kogi elections had their own brand of drama! The smooth sail of the governorship election collation hit a rough patch. Professor Johnson Urama, the big shot Returning Officer, threatened to toss out the State Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for causing a ruckus. It was giving the idea of “power pass power.”
The trouble brewed when the SDP official, whose name remains a mystery, spoke up about the announced results for the Okene Local Government Area. According to the rules, only one party agent should have been there, but this SDP person barged in.
The SDP secretary then dished out that the numbers announced were “cooked up,” claiming they had the real deal since yesterday through the INEC Results Viewing Portal. He was like, “Why the sudden change now? My party’s been played from the get-go!”
But Urama wasn’t having it. He warned the SDP bigwig about being booted out if he continued causing a fuss.
It wasn’t the only election drama. Over in Imo State, a Labour Party agent, Calistus Ihejiagwa, got roughed up and tossed out of the Collation Centre in Owerri, Imo State’s capital.
The whole saga continues with the collation ongoing. The winner’s grand reveal is just around the corner.
