To celebrate the 2023 Isese Day, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor, has announced Monday, August 21, a work-free day for all public servants in the state.
Isese Day has been kept aside in Lagos State to commemorate the original Yoruba culture and traditions as well as the preservation of the Yoruba legacy, according to a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, on Saturday, August 19.
This announcement had been contained in a circular issued by the Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, for the 2023 Isese Day celebration scheduled to hold on Sunday, August 20.
Muri-Okunolahad also added that the announcement of a work-free day by Sanwo-Olu was a reaffirmation of his determination to keep providing the necessary support to traditional institutions in the State with the aim to promote the indigenous Yoruba culture and tradition while preserving its heritage.
The circular also revealed that on Tuesday, August 22 at approximately 8 am prompt, State workers were expected to resume at their respective offices, promptly.
