Lagos state residents had today September 15, trooped out en masse to bid for impounded cars being auctioned by the Lagos state government.
The vehicles had been impounded by the Lagos state task force for flouting traffic regulations, especially vehicles driving against traffic. The traffic offenders had earlier been charged to a mobile court and their vehicles were forfeited to the state government.
The impounded cars have been auctioned and given to the highest bidders. This public auction had been organized by the Lagos State Government through its Ministry of Justice and the State Taskforce, and about 134 abandoned and forfeited vehicles had been abandoned and sold, at the Lagos State Task Force’s headquarters, Alausa, Ikeja, where a crowd of auctioneers, agents, buyers, and vehicle owners tried to outbid each other.
