Chelsea’s misfortune continues, despite sacking Graham Potter and replacing him with Frank Lampard, as they lost in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-finals with Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Though many Chelsea fans have Blamed Frank Lampard for his poor technical tactics, Frank Lampard said that the team only lost because the players refused to believe in themselves, so he advised them to exhibit confidence in their second-leg game against Real Madrid.
According to him, he has briefed them that things can change in the club if they play with a positive mindset
“I’ve just said to the players, special things can happen at Stamford Bridge,” the former Chelsea midfielder told BT Sport.
“We have to [go up a level], for sure we do, and that’s what we have to understand,” the Englishman added.
Frank Lampard might just be right, the problem might be with the players, but the Coach has to ensure the players are rid of their fears.
