The 67th Grammy Awards will proceed on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, despite the wildfires that have affected parts of the city.
However, this year’s ceremony will feature a fundraising initiative to support wildfire relief efforts and assist music professionals affected by the disaster, according to a statement from the Recording Academy.
Comedian and former The Daily Show host, Trevor Noah, will return to host the Grammys for the fifth consecutive year.
Noah, known for his hosting skills, recently shared a behind-the-scenes video on social media, giving fans a glimpse of the venue and preparations for the big night.
Beyoncé tops this year’s nominations with 11 nods for her album Cowboy Carter.
With 99 career nominations, Beyoncé remains the most nominated artist in Grammy history. Other leading nominees include Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift.
NIGERIAN NOMINATED SINGERS
The Recording Academy introduced the Best African Music Performance category for the 66th edition in 2024.
Nigerian music stars Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Davido, Lojay, Burna Boy, and Tems received nominations in the category this year.
Tems also received a nomination in the Best R&B Song category alongside Ronald Banful for Burning.
The Nigerian singer earned her third nomination in the Best Global Music Album category for Born In The Wild, alongside Rema, who was nominated for Heis.

A special tribute will be held to honour the late Quincy Jones, a legendary figure in the music industry.
Jones, who passed away in November at the age of 91 from pancreatic cancer, was a renowned producer and musician with an extraordinary 80 Grammy nominations and 28 wins.
The Recording Academy has promised to deliver a “star-studded tribute” to honour his immense contributions to music.
While the Grammys will recognise the impact of the January wildfires, organisers emphasise that the event will remain centred on celebrating the past year’s achievements in music.
Several key industry players, including Universal Music Group, Sony, Spotify, BMG, and Warner Music Group, have cancelled their usual Grammy week events to focus on supporting relief efforts.
The ceremony will include a tribute to the firefighters and emergency responders who played a crucial role in combating the wildfires.
Ben Winston, the show’s executive producer, reassured fans that the event will still be a celebration of music, with planned performances proceeding as originally intended.
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. expressed a similar sentiment in a recent interview, emphasising that cancelling the Grammys would not have been the best decision. Instead, the Academy chose to use the platform to raise awareness and support for wildfire victims.
