Lolo 1, a Nigerian actress and media figure, has raised allegations against the police escort of a Lagos lawmaker, accusing them of harassment.
The 47-year-old television personality posted a video on her Instagram account on Wednesday, revealing that police officers attempted to seize her car keys and threatened her and her driver’s lives.
Reports indicate the incident occurred when Lolo 1’s vehicle was forced to pull over to allow the lawmaker’s convoy to pass. In the video, Lolo 1 could be seen confronting the police officers, questioning their conduct.
She also appealed to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for assistance, claiming the officers had accused both her and her driver of attempting to kidnap them, a charge she firmly rejected.
“Lagos, come and see your people. Governor Sanwo-Olu come and see your people, they want to kill us, they are threatening to kill us. Over what? What honorable is in that car? Come and kill us here, wicked people,” she said in the video.
“They pushed us out of the road and they are still saying that we should park, park for what? We would not move, whatever honorable is in that car would come outside. I am a press person, you cannot kill me.
“You are threatening me, let the honorable in that car come out. You cannot oppress me, I refuse to bow. What did we do? Because you have guns? Governor Sanwo-Olu see what your people are doing, I am press person, you cannot touch me.”
In a follow-up interview, Lolo 1 shared more details, stating that the police had falsely accused her of damaging the government car.
“The police officers had stopped the car; they said I scratched the government car, and they were the ones that scratched me. Three of them came out to my car, took my car key, ordered me into their car… and I said no,” she explained.
