Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United has already started engaging with Torino for the potential transfer of their goalkeeper, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, given the uncertainty surrounding Andre Onana’s future with the club.
Onana’s joining the club was celebrated but his erratic performances have been difficult to watch. Current backup Bayindir has done nothing so far to earn the spot with a single save throughout his appearances. United are now expected to pursue multiple keepers after the summer window opens, which was exacerbated by Onana’s blunders this season, three of which were in the Premier League and directly correlating to goals.
The 28-year old’s specs seem tailored to compete in the Premier League, standing at 6’8. He already accounts for 19 caps for Serbia. Along with substantial experience in Serie A, he also claimed domestic trophies with Torino while accumulating substantial achievements such as ten shutouts and four saved penalties last season. Reports from United suggest that they are pursuing acceleration on his value and contract requirements to wise up the chances of a smooth transfer this summer.
Milinkovic-Savic appears eager to join the England side, however if true, United still have drastic calls to make surrounding Onana and Bayindir’s fates with the team. Even if the Saudi Pro League keeps persistent interest in Onana, Bayindir has shown signs of desiring consistent play out of the frigid bench.
While Amorim wouldn’t mind bringing over his own preferred number 1, he has to deal with two stooges from Manchester and two from London.
