Popular Nigerian singer, Mayorkun, has credited his former record label boss, Davido, for helping him land a deal with Sony Music Africa.
Mayorkun joined Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) in 2016 and remained with the label until 2021. His exit from DMW to sign with Sony Music West Africa had stirred speculation of a fallout between both artists.
However, in an interview with 3Music TV, Mayorkun dismissed those assumptions, revealing Davido was instrumental in making the new deal happen.
“Aside from having my label, right now I am also with Sony Africa. Shout out to Davido for that as well, he facilitated the deal,” he said.
