Kylian Mbappe has alleged that his ex-employers, Paris Saint-Germain, committed a “moral harassment” act, whereby the Paris prosecutor’s office has started an official investigation, according to a report by AFP on Thursday.
The captain of France, who moved to Real Madrid last summer, is at a draw with PSG in a legal fight for unpaid wages of €55 million and bonuses. The newest complaint focuses on how Mbappe was treated at the beginning of the 2023/24 season chiefly when the player was said to be tricked into training apart with those who were to be sold by PSG.
The French player contends that he was pushed out of the team because he was not willing to renew his contract, a debatable method that attracted negative reactions from the professional footballers’ union in France which went even further to lodge a complaint.
The 26-year-old was also not allowed to take part in PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia and was absent from the first match of the Ligue 1 campaign before he has finally been allowed onto the squad after club officials and him had a talk.
After seven successful years, Mbappe left PSG at the end of the 2023/24 season and became their all-time top scorer with 256 goals in 308 appearances. Strangely enough, PSG chased a dream and won their first-ever UEFA Champions League just after he left.
