Michelle Obama has shared that she feels relieved not to have had a son, citing the potential challenges of raising a boy with a strong personality like her husband, Barack Obama.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Light Podcast alongside her brother, Craig Robinson, and guest Angie Martinez, the former First Lady admitted that motherhood might have been more demanding with a son.
“I’m so glad I didn’t have a boy,” she said, explaining that any son of hers would likely have inherited Barack’s dominant traits, which could have made parenting more difficult.
Michelle and Barack Obama, who got married in 1992, are parents to two daughters — Malia Ann Obama, born July 4, 1998, and Natasha Marian Obama, born June 10, 2001.
