In a New Year message on 1 January 2023, Mohammed Bello, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, urged the residents in Abuja to ensure a peaceful general election in the February polls.
Bello, who reiterated his New Year message for the outgone year 2022, had urged residents to again ensure peace and unity during the February 25, 2023, general election. He then added that residents must refuse attempts to cause disharmony and disaffection in the territory.
The FCT minister also acknowledged residents for their understanding of the infrastructure and development initiatives of the FCTA, while also asking for their cooperation in further efforts in destroying the illegal structures and settlements peppering the territory, to ensure the sanctity of the Abuja Masterplan.
