The House of Representatives has enjoined the Director General of the NYSC, Ahmed Yushau and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to bring back safely, missing NYSC corps member, Emeka Okeke.
This appeal was made on Thursday after a motion of urgent public importance was moved by Nnolim Nnaji on the floor of the House.
From the reports gathered, Emeka Okeke, had been a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and had been serving in Akure, the Ondo State capital, before his disappearance in May.
In Nnaji’s motion, he had explained that the efforts of the parents of the missing corper to find their son, had yielded little to no effort from the government.
The lawmaker also listed the several instances of attacks on NYSC members in their place of primary assignments, and the lack of decent accommodation.
Following the presentation of the motion, the House decided that President Bola Tinubu should direct the two officials to make provisions for security and decent accommodation to corp members.
The House had also called for a coordinated search and rescue operation so as to find the missing corps member.
