Mohammed Bello Shehu’s nomination as chairman of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission has been formally requested by President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired) to the Senate.
The request was made in a letter that was read aloud in session on Wednesday by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
In a similar event, Lawan sent Buhari’s request to the Committee on Works asking them to confirm Joe Aniku Michael Ohiani’s candidacy for the position of Substantive Director-General/CEO of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission.
The Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions has also conveyed the President’s request for Umar Yahaya to be confirmed as Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of Unclaimed Funds.
The appropriate Committees anticipate seeing both applicants in person for screening.
Two weeks were allocated to each committee to report back to the Senate in plenary.
