A shooting in a quiet Lutherville neighborhood left multiple people injured and at least some dead on Monday morning, prompting a heavy police presence and widespread concern among residents.

Baltimore County police confirmed the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Tregarone Road, after an emergency alert was issued urging the public to avoid the area. The scene is being treated as an active investigation, and officers have not yet disclosed how many victims were involved or the circumstances behind the violence.

“Some of the victims have been pronounced deceased at the scene,” authorities confirmed in the alert. The condition of other victims has not been released.

Confusion Over Details

While the official alert listed Tregarone Road as the scene of the shooting, some residents on neighborhood forums claimed it was a domestic incident elsewhere. One poster described the situation as a “domestic murder/suicide” and insisted there was “no danger to the public.” Another suggested a separate address, on East Padonia Road was involved.

These claims, however, remain unverified by police. Officials have emphasized that information circulating online is preliminary and urged residents to rely on official updates.

Community Reaction

The shooting has rattled the normally quiet Lutherville community. “Jeez! That’s terrible. Reminiscent of the incident that took place on Padonia (near Dulaney High) a few years back,” one resident posted.

Police have not confirmed whether the shooting was targeted or random, nor have they released information about a possible suspect.

What’s Next

Authorities continue to investigate and are expected to release further details later today. Meanwhile, residents are advised to avoid the area due to the ongoing police activity and possible road closures.

This is a developing story and will be updated as new information becomes available.
