Nigerian singer and music label boss, Naira Marley, has cautioned young people against turning to football betting as a means of survival.
Sharing his thoughts in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the artiste noted that gambling cannot be considered a dependable source of income. According to him, “Football bet no be work bro. Please stop before they finish you.”
He went on to encourage youths to trust in their own potential, stating, “You are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way.”
The warning comes as sports betting continues to grow in popularity across the country, with many youths hoping it will provide a financial breakthrough amid unemployment and economic challenges.
However, experts repeatedly caution that reliance on betting carries serious risks, including addiction, money troubles, and damaged personal relationships.
