The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has kicked off a manhunt for a Lekki based infamous drug dealer, Sowunmi Ayodeji Kayode.
The drug agency had made the announced through a statement it issued on Wednesday, August 23 by Femi Babafemi, the Director, Media and Advocacy for NDLEA Headquarters, in FCT Abuja.
According to the statement, Kayode, who is reportedly on the run, had crushed an NDLEA officer with his luxury vehicle in his attempt to escape arrest when the agency operatives commenced a search of his house last weekend.
Prior to this incident, NDLEA officers had last week Friday, August 18, invaded the residence of the wanted drug dealer, located at 2/3 Adetola Ayeni close, Lekki, Lagos, for a search and probable arrest following plausible intelligence that he was a drug dealer selling illicit drugs.
Kayode had not been around when the anti-narcotics officers barged into his compound but he had returned while a search of his apartment building was ongoing.
Immediately Kayode drove into the compound and saw the NDLEA officers, he engaged his car in reverse gear, running over one of the officers and destroying the gate to his apartment in the process, before fleeing the scene in his car.
