A heavy rainfall witnessed in parts of Lagos State on Thursday, April 27 has left several roads, houses, and shops flooded with the situation leading to massive gridlock that left many motorists and pedestrians stranded for hours on the major roads in the metropolis.
When the rain began at about midday in certain parts of the state, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA quickly issued an advisory warning residents, motorists, teachers, and school proprietors to exercise restraint and caution during and after the downpour.
The heavy downpour yesterday led to both roads on the Island and Mainland being flooded.
Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Coordinator of NEMA, had in a statement on Thursday, encouraged school proprietors and teachers to watch pupils under their custody for at least 30 minutes after rainfall for the flash floods to subside and be safe for crossing.
