Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has stated that Nigeria, as a nation, needs to further consider investments in Green Hydrogen because of using it as an energy transition.
Osinbajo made the call during the unveiling of a book titled “Understanding Natural Gas: A Nigerian Perspective” on Thursday, April 27 in FCT Abuja.
The Vice President had encouraged the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC Ltd, to take into account and make investments in green hydrogen for a clean energy source in the country.
This is according to reports that the global demand for green hydrogen (an alternative low-carbon energy) is estimated to increase by 700 percent by the year 2050.
Meanwhile, the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, has reported that the book which was unveiled has 12 chapters, and its Author and Co-author were Dr. David Ige and Mr Dapo Akinosun (SAN) respectively.
