Recent research by a crypto price tracker CoinGecko, the world’s largest independent cryptocurrency aggregator has shown that Nigeria is ranked number one in the list of countries interested in cryptocurrency since April 2022.

The study was a part of the Google Trends data of search terms frequently used by Nigerian citizens interested in cryptocurrency.

It was revealed that these terms were then combined to give each English-speaking country an ‘average search score’ to find out the countries with the most interest in cryptocurrency since the market crash in April 2022.

With a total search score of 371, Nigeria ranked first for its population having the highest search levels for the phrase: ‘cryptocurrency’, ‘invest in crypto’, and ‘buy crypto’ globally. Additionally, the reports revealed that the population of Nigeria’s search for the cryptocurrency ‘Solana’ is the third most searched, worldwide.

The United Arab Emirates was a close second, with a total search score of 270.

Singapore came third as the third country most interested in cryptocurrency since April this year with a total search score of 261.

The United Kingdom placed fifth with a total search score of 198. According to CoinGecko, the terms: ‘Bitcoin’, ‘Ethereum’ and ‘Polygon’ are all trending cryptocurrencies in the UK.

Interestingly, the United States ranked twelfth, with a total search score of 157. The US is also the sixth country most interested in the cryptocurrency ‘Solana’
