A Nigerian man was detained for cocaine smuggling by the Pakistan Anti-Narcotics Force at the Lahore International Airport.
The suspect arrived from Nigeria via Dubai, and the Pakistani news site Express Tribune reported on Thursday that he ingested 38 cocaine capsules.
ANF spokesperson said 608 grammes of cocaine total were contained in the capsules.
Ten Nigerians were detained by Pakistani officials in 2023 in related incidents, and 4.811 kg of drugs were taken into custody.
The ANF has carried out seven operations so far this year, yielding the recovery of 11.420 kg of drugs and the arrest of eight Nigerians. The Anti-Narcotics Act will be used to prosecute the suspect, and other enquiries are still being conducted.
