On Thursday, the Nigerian Senate endorsed the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) 2024 Supplementary Appropriation Bill of N288 billion. The bill, sponsored by Senator Mohammed Bomai (APC-Yobe), Chairperson of the Joint Committee on FCTA and FCT Area Councils, passed after a harmonized report was adopted.
After reviewing revenue inflows and expenditures (in overhead, capital, and otherwise), Bomai agreed to the proposed alteration. This supplementary budget estimates N288 billion for revenue and expenditure purposes, with 89.21% set aside for capital projects and the remaining for overheads.
Barau Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate (APC-Kano), congratulated the joint committee for expeditiously completing the process and hailed FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his work on internal revenue generation and infrastructure development.
