Nine people have been detained in Gombe for offences such as thuggery, armed robbery, and criminal conspiracy.

DSP Buhari Abdullahi, Police Public Relations Officer for the Gombe State Police Command, disclosed on Friday that the command had recovered several stolen items, including phones, ATM cards, and cash.

He said, “We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our residents.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to combat crime and bring perpetrators to justice.”

The statement also highlighted the arrest of three suspects—Mohammad Ahmad, Abdullahi Adamu, and Yau Adamu—for armed robbery at Federal Low-Cost Quarters in Gombe LGA, Gombe State.

“The suspects, who were armed with a sharp knife, robbed two residents of their valuables, including a Redmi Android phone valued at N150,000, a Tecno Android phone valued at N100,000, three ATM cards, and N3,000 cash,” the statement added.

He revealed that during interrogation, the suspects admitted to the crime, and all the stolen items were recovered.

He added, “We are pleased that we were able to recover all the stolen items and bring the suspects to justice. We urge members of the public to continue to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.”
