Rio Ferdinand, ex-Manchester United player has commended Martin Odegard, Arsenal Midfielder for his excellent leadership this season. Odegaard who captains his national team was given the captain armband of Arsenal due to the departure of Alexandre Lacezette.

Rio Ferdinand once said that the doesn’t think Odeegard could deliver as a captain, it seems Odegaard proved him wrong.

Rio Ferdinand has praised Odeegard for his excellent quality as a leader, according to Ferdinard, not everyone can deliver properly as the captain of a team, and Odegaard started the season on an excellent note. He noticed that the position of captaincy has helped Odeegard grow to become a better player, considering his performances in all three games.

“I said that the armband could weigh too heavy on him. I said it could, there was a chance that it could.

“Some people, when they get the armband, it changes them. He’s started the season brilliantly. As a player, I like Odegaard, last season he was fantastic.”

He added, “He was a wonder kid from 15 years old and now he’s starting to show why. You either get the armband weighing heavily on you, or it enables you to grow and become better.”

“Three games in it looks like it’s making him a bigger player, a bigger personality, and a bigger character.

We are not surprised, as Odegaard once revealed in an interview that he likes responsibilities and if they ask him to become the captain he’ll gladly accept the Position.
