Famous Nigerian comedian and actor, Okechukwu Onyegbule, popularly known by his stage name: Okey Bakassi, has revealed that he had been approached both in Nigeria and overseas to hawk drugs.
Mr Bakassi, who made the revelation while granting an interview on Channels TV, had shared that that he had been propositioned with mouth-watering offers by fraudsters and drug dealers to join their illicit business.
During the interview, he had further noted that as an entertainer, several offers to peddle drugs would be made.
Mr Bakassi had additionally remarked that even though the business was profitable, he had declined the offer.
The entertainer had said:
“When I came to Lagos as a young man, I was enticed by different people in so many ways. These people I’m talking about are fraudsters and drug dealers.”
“These will suddenly show up in your hotel and start talking business. They will talk about other people doing it and making money. But it is a risky enterprise.”
“I want to be able to sleep guilt-free, without being apprehensive of the police or any law enforcement agencies. This is why I have tried from day one to keep things simple and be content.”
