In a storm of outrage, Northern lawyers are threatening legal action against the Federal Government due to its failure to compensate victims of the accidental bombing at Tudun Biri in Kaduna State’s Igabi Local Government Area.
Calls for Justice Amplify
The Kaduna State Government reported the Nigerian Army’s admission of responsibility for the bomb drop that tragically claimed the lives of over 100 villagers. Northern Senators, rallying under the Northern Senators Forum, extended a sympathetic gesture by donating N58 million to the victims during their visit to Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani.

Demands for Accountability and Preventive Measures
Governor Sani disclosed the senators’ support and their call for a comprehensive investigation into the incident to hold those responsible accountable. Additionally, he urged a thorough review of the nation’s laws to bolster the security apparatus, aiming to prevent future catastrophic occurrences.
Meanwhile, speaking on behalf of the Northern Lawyers Forum, Nafi’u Abubakar emphasized their commitment to ensuring justice for the affected families. The forum, comprising over 600 members, vowed to pursue legal avenues to claim rightful compensation for the victims while urging the government to re-evaluate military rules of engagement to avert further civilian casualties in future military operations.
