Last week, a video went viral showing Pastor Paul Adefarasin the senior pastor of House on the Rock allegedly pointing a firearm at a content creator filming luxury cars around Ikoyi roundabout. The clip ignited a storm on social media, with accusations flying and many demanding answers from the respected clergyman.
The content creator later apologized but insisted he was simply filming peacefully. After days of silence, Pastor Paul promised to address the issue openly during his Sunday service.
Content Creator Tells His Side on Daddy Freeze’s Show
In an exclusive interview with Daddy Freeze, the content creator explained what really happened.
He said he went to Ikoyi roundabout with a mission to film at least 10 Range Rovers, and Pastor Paul’s car was the first stop.
He recalled:
“I didn’t move close to the car, I even moved back sef. So as I start the video, I was just saying ‘Boss, Boss’. As he now parked, I was so happy, Me I even thought he just want to acknowledge me. As he wound down he said ‘Don’t do that,’ and I was like ‘Sorry Boss.’ I didn’t really focus on him, I was just focused on my own screen to get the video perfect. As he left, I didn’t know what was in his hand. I sha see one stuff in his hand, but I didn’t not know…”
That mysterious “stuff” is what set off the firearm rumors.
Pastor Paul’s Full Statement to His Congregation
On Sunday, Pastor Paul addressed the controversy head-on.
He said,
“The enticement of the enemy is always the love of money at the root of all evil. What we have had to witness was click baiters just looking for more money. I probably wasn’t even their target. Their target was to make more money.
And I was falsely accused of bearing a firearm, pointing a firearm, at an aggressive content creator who came within personal distance. The only thing separating me and him was about maybe three quarters of a metre and glass.
I do not have a pistol licence for a firearm. I do not carry a firearm. And I pointed no firearm at anybody. Amen.
And it’s our policy not to dignify hate speech, false accusations. We believe that God is bigger than that. And we believe in what is said in Romans 12 and verse 19.
And it was unique because it came home on a Saturday when I observe Sabbath. Because it’s a great time for me.
I don’t make a huge law out of Sabbath, but I believe in the principle of Sabbath. And unfortunately, several persons called me and sent me many videos. I was shocked.
I’ll be candid with you. I was shocked. I was hurt. I am human. But God is touched with the feeling of our infirmities and is able to first give us succour.
And what the enemy means for evil, he works it for good.
On that note, I will lay that matter to rest.”
