Manchester City has faced a lot of criticism, due to the allegations labeled against them, for breaking over 100 financial premier league rules, and Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, in defending his club made an offensive comment against Steve Gerrard’s infamous slip during a premier league match between Manchester City and Liverpool in 2014.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City’s match on Wednesday in the press conference, he rendered an apology to Steve Gerrard.
According to him, he admires Steve Gerrard for his contribution to the country, but in defending his club he made some stupid comments and he regrets it.
Although he has already apologized to Steve Gerrard privately since it was a public comment he decided to apologize publicly.
“He knows how I admire him for what he has done in the country where I live. I defended my club but I didn’t represent my club well with my stupid comments. I am ashamed.
“I have apologized to him privately but, like the comment was public, my apology must be public as well.”
